At the latest when Helga crashes through the floor of her living room, she realizes that she is stuck. It's been two years since her husband left her for another woman, but she's still angry and hurt. Everything changes when her cleaning lady goes on vacation and sends Polish worker Ryszard to replace her. Initially the target of Helga's resentment himself, Ryszard soon becomes her confidant. Although they don't speak the same language, Helga feels understood. In the safety of their own four walls, the two grow closer. But when Helga's family and friends find out about her secret, she finds it difficult to admit her feelings for Ryszard, who doesn't fit in at all with the usual image of masculinity in her milieu. Christl and Hansi Sandgruber return from their vacation in Australia. A lot of work awaits them, as the wildlife park's 30th anniversary is coming up. Hansi's arch-enemy Viktoria Perterer is going through less rosy times, having gone bankrupt overnight after reckless stock market speculation. Unexpectedly, a rumor surfaces that old Sandgruber may be responsible for the unexplained death of Viktoria's beloved father, who died in a mountain accident. Hansi is outraged by this suspicion of his father, but there seems to be evidence to support it.

Nine peasant woodcarvers from Poland, their works, their thoughts, and the unexpected elements in each personal view. They draw their themes from biblical characters, the day-to-day pleasures and labours of village life, their historical heritage, but also Auschwitz and the devil next-door. Existential difficulties pose challenges. Lending them form is a way to master them, to constrain them within an image.

A morality tale from the time of the Saxon Kingdom. The von Siebenthal volunteer fire department has nothing to do. When their local pub is in a very dilapidated state, but the landlord has no money to renovate it, the fire department tries to help out by setting fire to it themselves, but it doesn't quite work. They look for a new object to set fire to, the supposedly empty prison. But there is only one prisoner, who is heroically rescued by Captain Kaden.
